Classic Chandeliers

The Big Room – Carlsbad Cavern Towering columns of flowstone frame this collection of “ring stalactites,” also known as chandeliers. Chandeliers were created when water seeping down from the surface formed rings on the ceiling, before falling to the cave floor. The calcite deposits along the rings eventually grew into these spectacular formations.
